Church packs Heat!

Now this is what Im talking about! A church that promotes packing heat when you come on Sunday!
A pastor in Kentucky wants to show Obama that there are responsible citizens that should be allowed to own guns and not be punished with unfair gun laws.

Be Still

Something amazing has been happening to me lately and I wanted to share it with you in the hopes that you will find it as beneficial as I have.
So things have been ramping up heading into the wedding in only 37 days, not to mention ministry and speaking engagements all weighing heavily on me. So I took this concept that was well known to many of the Old Testament people as well as many early Christians, but somehow has seemed to fall away from main stream christianity and its the idea of silence and solitude.
Psalm 46:10 says "be still and know that I am God." My question is in our busy schedule I know we carve out time to read our bibles and journal but do you carve out time to just sit and be with the God of all creation? No phone, no noise, no talking...just you and your King...

Rubbernecks and Looky Lou's

Incredible new post by Mike Foster on "Rubbernecks and Looky Lou's" check it out!

What stops you?

So last night as I was sitting there talking with God, He began revealing somethings about myself that might be hindering me from the great call that he has placed in my life.
My biggest struggle in life, and thus transcends every other aspect of my life is my laziness...there I said it...right out in the open...I'm one lazy person!
You know as humans we have this innate compass built in us all that always seems to choose the path of least resistance. I mean think about it for a second. We would much rather hang out and have fun then actually sit down and be diligent when it comes to the important areas of our lives. Why? Because its hard work!
Proverbs 21:5 says "the plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty"

What is it in your life that stops you from being great?

Im an idiot!

Ok so guys if your with me on this then you'll understand my feeble attempt to ask for forgiveness.
This is a picture of the hottest girl on the planet, best part of it is that in 39 days she will be mine till I die...sorry fellas :)
So last night before service, I went into leadership "go mode" which can be an amazingly awesome place to be but last night I leveraged it to be the biggest jerk on the planet and get away with it. As I was voicing my concern about the night to my beautiful bride to be, she reminded me gently to bring the intensity down a notch and I snapped!!!
I went off on her for no other reason than to assert my dominance of a ministry that isnt even mine to begin with!
So God and I had a great conversation last night after I apologized to her and this is my public confession that I am an idiot...Please forgive me...

Fun Weekend

This weekend was such a blast! Natalya and I got to take engagement pictures, however, we took two separate shoots with two separate photographers each about 3-4 hours long. Let me just tell you that you can only smile and hug so many times in a 2 day span and after that youre just done.
Fathers day was awesome as Pastor Chuck taught us about the authenticity of approaching our heavenly Father for who He is...Our FATHER!
37 lives were changed over the weekend with so many more touched and moved by Sundays message.
Excited for tonight and what Daddy is going to do this week!

Made My Day

Just another reason why playing pranks on people is a bad idea...this just made me laugh...

Big Night Hangover

I dont know about you but in our office on Thursday, the day after our huge worship service I feel like Im hungover from a night of hard partying, the only thing is there arent any mind altering substances involved....only the life altering Holy Spirit!

Do you guy experience similar after effects from your big ministry nights?

Sarcasm

Heres something to think about. What has sarcasm and cynicism done to us as culture? Do we now think that it is ok to say things that might normally hurt someone, but say it in a joking manner so it goes unnoticed as an insult?
Does that force us to ignore how our own insecurities shape our behavior when someone makes a sarcastic comment about the clothes we are wearing? Thoughts??

Last Night

What an incredible night we had last night! Our Grad Night event brought together for the first time all of our youth ministries under one roof to showcase the amazing growth that God has given us also a model of ministry that we feel is truly working together!
Pastor Tim Booher from Impact and Pastor Cody from Generate High were there and help make the night possible so big thanks to them for their efforts. Im excited to see what the summer holds for us as we move towards our goal of 400 junior high young adults worshiping passionately their King!

Tribute to Fathers

Here is something I find interesting about dads or at least the dads I know. They work extremely hard to provide for their families yet when they get sick they will NEVER go to the doctors. They usually say something like, "there's nothing they can do" or "I dont need a doctor."
Dads put up with so much from their kids and sacrifice almost all their income so the kids can have the things they never did, yet when it comes time for their birthday, they would rather we not even remember, and in fact one year my mom and I forgot my dads birthday and a few weeks after we realized he simply said, "I like it like that!"
So next Sunday is fathers day, a day we celebrate our dads who sacrifice everything, take nothing and expect nothing, yet we cant plan anything for them cause they don't want to be bothered with all the "hoop-la."

Thanks dad! Youre the best!!

Generate Grad Night

Right now Im sitting here thinking about all the graduations that I have been to in the last few days and I am excited for the Generate Grad Night event on Monday.

Its going to be unlike other grad ceremonies that drag on and on. Hope if you are in junior high or entering high school you will be there. Chick-Fil-a is catering and they never disappoint!

Also if you know anyone in those grades please invite them. See ya there.

Graduation Week

As so many students all around the country celebrate their commencement into higher education I think back to my graduation ceremony and realize that it was just a blur and in the grand scheme of my life meant nothing.

How about celebrations of spiritual growth as students learn how to love more, or pick up their cross and deny themselves, understanding the "Kingdom of God" as it is on earth? Surely a celebration of these things would go further in our society than a hour long ceremony of people talking endlessly of memories that come and go!

Anyway...Im just over graduations :)

Tiananmen Anniversary

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the massacre at Tiananmen Square, where thousands stood in revolt against the Chinese government calling for democracy to be enacted.

As we watch the events that are unfolding now, and what organizations like Grace For Asia and Pastor Gene Wood and Generate are doing to help change the tide in China we certainly live in exciting times.

Its interesting how 2000 years ago it was the apostle Paul who wrote in 2 Tim 2:9 "for I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal but the word of God is not imprisoned." and now we are watching the cell doors that have tried to imprison the gospel be flung wide open and literally, have millions on the brink of having the Gospel in hand!!

Godly Service

Its interesting that so many of us will come to church and serve God with everything then go home and treat our friends and family less than human.

When Jesus called us to service, it was always meant to serve others as well as God, hence the 2nd most important commandment, "Love your neighbor as yourself." This means our parents, brothers, sisters and everyone in between!

Unless you have been under a rock for the last 10 years or so you have seen the conflicts in the Middle East, specifically between Israel and the Palestinians. Obama has said that he seriously believes that we can get negotiations back on track.

Does this generation really even care about this issue? Should we just keep out of it and let them figure it out on their own?

Curious what your thoughts are and do you think that its even possible given the current climate in that region?

New Chapter

Today is the start of a new chapter in my life. It starts with the engagement to the love of my life Natalya Radford!
We are so excited for this next stage in life but know that it will move quickly so we are trying to make sure that we stop and take in the sights and smells of it all before we are old and grey...

I cant wait to see what God has in store for the both of us!
